REPUBLICAN educatorS ASSOCIATION

Over the last few months, I have had a number of requests to restart the publishing of REA's "Comments and Commentary." Therefore, I am planning to start publishing every two to three weeks.

Your executive committee has two projects on the table: 1) the Comments and Commentary; and, 2) one that our acting Chair Steve Engbrecht has initiated. Steve's project involves some logistics that we are working on. As soon as we get them worked out, we will be back at you for some input.

During the last election cycle, we helped sponsor the Lemoore Republican Headquarters together with the Young Republicans. It turned out to be the best headquarters we have ever had in Lemoore. It was located in the old Leoni Drug Store.

In addition, we put forth the offer, to all Republican candidates for local school boards, to help them with their campaigns. We had three candidates respond to our offer. One took advantage of our offer — Eddie Mendes, a candidate for Lemoore Elementary. We displayed and distributed his campaign material at headquarters and, with the help of several of our members and YRs, we were able to precinct walk and phone bank for him.

To make a long story short, we contributed significantly to his successful election to the Lemoore Elementary Board. We were able to provide a considerable amount of support for John Gordon's election to the Lemoore City Council, as well as support for David Valadao and Any Vidak. Precinct walks and phone banking were primarily manned by the YRs and local volunteers.

All in all, REA had a good first start!

If there is an issue, you would like for me to look into and comment on, please feel free to email me at 26othdq@lemoorenet.com.

Back in a couple of weeks,
